Franciscan

How do I apply?

We welcome men 22 - 45 years of age to consider life as a Friar. Exceptions are made for older candidates to apply on an individual basis.

Young men who are 18-22 years of age, though not eligible to apply for postulancy, are invited to participate in the Lateran Program at Saint Bonaventure University. During this time you will be closely associated with the Franciscans and pursue an education in a college setting.

Check us out on Twitter and Facebook.

Are you ready to consider applying?

Go for it!

I invite you to contact us, Fr. Page Polk and Fr. Richard Goodin at the Vocation Office: sjbvocations@franciscan.org or 800-827-1082 / 513-542-1082. We will be happy to send you a packet of information describing our Franciscan Way of Life, who we are and what we do.

As you get to know a little about the friars, so we would like to get to know you a little bit better. Please complete the Personal Inventory Form (you do not have to fill out all the information, just the personal information, church involement and education is enough) or download and print a PDF and mail it back to us at: SJB Vocations, 5000 Colerain Ave., Cincinnati, OH 45223-1213 or you may email it to us.

A good way to help you discern if God is calling you to be a friar is to attend a "Come and See" weekend. It is a wonderful opportunity to meet the friars, observe how we live, pray and work. These weekends are held four times throughout the year.

In the end, after gathering information about the friars, having had an opportunity to witness first hand our way of life and having many of your questions addressed, you may find yourself wanting to apply for admittance. We will gladly assist you in the application process.

Do not hesitate to contact us. We are here to walk with you and help you!
